How do I calculate a percentage?
To find what percentage one number is of another: (Part / Whole) × 100. For example, 25 out of 100 is (25/100) × 100 = 25%.
How do I find X% of Y?
Multiply the total by the percentage divided by 100: (Y × X) / 100. For example, 20% of $500 = (500 × 20) / 100 = $100.
How do I calculate percentage change?
((New Value − Old Value) / Old Value) × 100. If price went from $100 to $120, the change is ((120 − 100) / 100) × 100 = 20% increase.
What's the difference between % of and %?
"20% of 100" = 20. "What % is 20 of 100?" = 20%. The first calculates a value, the second calculates a percentage.
