CAC & LTV calculator — questions

What is a good LTV:CAC ratio?

A ratio of 3:1 or higher is generally considered healthy for a subscription business — you earn at least three times what it costs to acquire a customer. Below 1:1 means you lose money on every customer.

How is customer lifetime calculated?

Average customer lifetime in months is 1 divided by your monthly churn rate. At 3% monthly churn, the average customer stays about 33 months. LTV then multiplies that by monthly revenue and gross margin.

What is CAC payback?

CAC payback is how many months of gross profit per customer it takes to recover the cost of acquiring them. Under 12 months is typically considered strong.
