Cash on delivery in your store

Offer cash on delivery — when it suits you

Cash on delivery (COD) lets buyers place an order and pay when it arrives, instead of paying by card at checkout. It's a store-level choice: some sellers live off it for local orders; others never take cash at the door. Mewayz leaves the decision to you, per store.

Turning it on or off

Step 1 — Open your store settings. In the store admin, go to Settings.

Step 2 — Find the payment options. The Cash on delivery toggle controls whether COD is offered on your checkout at all. It's on by default; switch it off and the option disappears for buyers.

Step 3 — Optionally require a confirmation. A second toggle, confirmation required, adds an explicit confirmation step before a cash order is placed — a light guard against accidental or unserious orders.

How it plays with card payments

When card payments are enabled on your store, checkout leads with the card form — cash on delivery is presented as the alternative, not the default. If you disable COD, card becomes the only path. If you have no card gateway configured, COD keeps your checkout usable while you set one up.

Handling cash orders

Cash orders arrive in your Orders list like any other, marked unpaid until you collect. Update the order status as you fulfil and collect payment — including in bulk from the Orders list.
